About Erin Haefner, Soprano

Based in Byron, Minnesota, Erin Haefner is a vibrant and versatile soprano whose work includes orchestral performance, musical theater, and opera. Erin, who is renowned for her exquisite precision and remarkable musical versatility, performs both classic and modern material with elegance, subtlety, and clarity.

 

​She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Flute Performance from Luther College, where her combined proficiency in flute and voice served as the basis for her varied artistic career, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Northern Arizona University. 

 

An accomplished opera singer, Erin most recently appeared as Zita "La Vecchia" in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi in July/August 2025. Other performance credits include Margaret “Meg” March (Little Women), Daughter (Daughter), Ada Blake (A Certain Madness), and Rachel (If I Were You). In March 2025, she performed in the groundbreaking New Media Opera Scenes in Rochester, MN and in April 2023, she premiered the role of Water in Robert Stanley Peter Gardner’s Here in This Garden. Her portrayal of Ramiro in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera earned her the Frank and Sally Hansen Singer/Actor Award of Excellence, which was her first ever full-stage opera role.

A versatile performer, Erin is equally at home in musical theater, with roles including Vivienne Kensington (Legally Blonde), the Narrator (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), and Smitty (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying).

 

Erin is a skilled flutist in addition to her vocal accomplishments. She frequently plays as the principal flute with the Rochester Pops Orchestra and also plays as a freelance flute player in pit orchestras and worship events. Her instrumental performance has brought her to international stages in Paris, Madrid, London, and Vienna's famed Musikverein.

 

​Erin regularly performs with the Hometown Opera Company and Choral Arts Ensemble, making a significant contribution to the local cultural community. She is currently the Director of Operations and Education for the Rochester Symphony and is a committed arts administrator.

 

​Erin is dedicated to quality, originality, and beauty in all aspects of her work, and she remains a dynamic figure in the local arts community.
